92 barangays in 9 towns and a city in Bulacan still flooded
Mon Lazaro September 6, 2024 at 07:02 PMCITY OF MALOLOS – A total of 92 villages across nine towns and one city in Bulacan remain submerged in floodwaters, caused by the southwest monsoon rains and the rising high tide from Manila Bay.
According to the 11:00 AM situational report released yesterday (September 5) by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council of Bulacan, five barangays are flooded in Balagtas; two in Bulakan; eight in Bocaue; 19 in Calumpit; 24 in Hagonoy; six in Marilao; seven in Paombong; one in San Ildefonso; six in Pandi; and 14 in the City of Meycauayan.
Floodwater levels range from half a foot to six feet, with the deepest recorded in Barangay Santa Lucia in Calumpit.
Meanwhile, 656 families, or a total of 2,317 individuals, are still being housed in 32 evacuation centers located in the towns of Calumpit, Plaridel, San Ildefonso, San Rafael, Obando, Balagtas, Bocaue, and the cities of Baliwag and Meycauayan.
