BOCAUE, Bulacan – In a move to sustain Bocaue’s progress, Mayor Eduardo “Jonjon” Villanueva Jr. officially filed his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for reelection today, October 7.
Known for his firm commitment to public service, Mayor Villanueva has laid out his plans to extend the development projects and programs initiated during his administration.
One of the key achievements of his leadership has been his focus on improving the town’s infrastructure. His administration has made significant progress, including the construction of Bocaue’s first-ever fire station and several other municipal and barangay buildings, which are now serving the people of Bocaue.

In partnership with DHSUD, a large housing project is being developed in Barangay Batia. This initiative, another first for Bocaue, aims to address the town’s housing challenges, prioritizing indigent families living near riverbanks and other high-risk areas.
“Masaya ako na makatulong sa pagtupad ng pangarap na bahay ng mga Bocaueño. May mga bagong kalsada na nabuksan at ipinagawa ang iba pa. Ipinalinis natin ang ilog at ipinagawa ang mga drainage sa iba-ibang barangay. Nakatulong ito na mawala o mabilis na humupa ang baha. Marami pa ang nakaplanong ipagawa sa mga susunod na buwan,” Villanueva emphasized.
Social Services
Another key aspect of Villanueva’s tenure is his dedication to delivering comprehensive social services to the residents of Bocaue. His administration has launched numerous initiatives to improve healthcare, livelihood opportunities, education, and support for the elderly, youth, indigents, and farmers.
He explained that a significant portion of the town’s budget has been allocated for education, medical services, financial aid, and health and burial assistance for his constituents.
Driving Economic Growth
Under Villanueva’s leadership, Bocaue has experienced a surge in business growth. Local entrepreneurship, particularly in food establishments along Mayor Joni Villanueva Avenue, has increased, with new businesses continuing to expand throughout the town. Mayor Villanueva noted that this economic growth would lead to more jobs and increased revenue for the local government, which can be reinvested into projects that benefit Bocaueños.

Mayor Villanueva acknowledges that his success would not have been possible without the support of Vice Mayor Sherwin Tugna, who has implemented many projects for the people, as well as the councilors who have assisted him in his initiatives aimed at uplifting the lives of the residents. Their dedication and teamwork have been essential in carrying out various programs that address the needs of the Bocaueños.
He also extends his gratitude to the people of Bocaue for their trust and support, assuring them of his commitment to honest and transparent governance.
“Makakaasa ang bawat Bocaueño na magpapatuloy ang pag-unlad, ang mga proyekto para sa tao, at ang serbisyong may malasakit,” he concluded.
