GUIGUINTO, Bulacan — The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) recently distributed 22 land titles to qualified women beneficiaries in Bulacan during a culmination celebration of Women’s Month in March.
Emelita Lingat, provincial environment and natural resources officer of Bulacan, said the beneficiaries were from the towns of Doña Remedios Trinidad 11, Bulakan 10 and one in Plaridel.
The 22 land titles have a total land area of about 3.65 hectares that DENR Central Luzon regional executive director Ralph Pablo distributed in it’s program dubbed, “Titulong Handog para kay Juana.”
Pablo noted that aside from uplifting the lives of the beneficiaries from the said three towns, the activity also brought to limelight the significant role of women in promoting land rights and management.
“Stronger women’s rights to land and productive assets are linked to a wide range of benefits such as improved living conditions, better nutrition and food security, better health, higher earnings, and local productivity,” Pablo said.
He added that the DENR in the region would expand and fast-track land title applications to communities, so that security of tenure may be provided to beneficiaries while local productivity is maximized.
