Drug abuse treatment and rehabilitation center to be constructed in Bulacan

CITY OF MALOLOS — Department of the Interior and Local Government assistant secretary for public safety Florencio Bernabe, Jr. announced on Monday that a Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (DATRC) will soon rise in Bulacan.

The announcement was made during the observance of Fire Prevention Month ceremony at Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city. The said facility is expected to rehabilitate illegal drug dependents and help curb illegal drug dependency.

Bernabe explained that DATRC is one of the effective mechanisms in reintegrating individuals into the society through sustainable programs of treatment and rehabilitation.

Bulakeños were also encouraged to participate in the DILG program dubbed as “BIDA – Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan”, a year-round advocacy program that aims to raise awareness and encourage participation from all sectors of the community in drug demand reduction.
