QUEZON CITY — The Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP‑DEG) launched a successful one-day nationwide anti-drug operation on June 10, resulting in the arrest of three suspects and the seizure of illegal drugs valued at approximately ₱12.12 million.
Acting on coordinated intelligence, PNP‑DEG units conducted four simultaneous raids—two buy-busts, one marijuana eradication, and one casing-and-surveillance operation—across multiple regions. Authorities confiscated 91 grams of crystal meth (“shabu”) and 57,500 fully grown marijuana plants, delivering a significant blow to local drug networks.
During one operation, a high-value target listed by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)—previously on probation—was arrested, highlighting the unit’s sustained efforts to track repeat offenders. Tragically, one suspect was “neutralized” after resisting arrest.
PNP‑DEG Director Brig. Gen. Jason Capoy praised his team’s professionalism and dedication.
“These results prove our firm resolve to dismantle drug syndicates and eliminate the drug menace,” he said, urging communities to stay vigilant and report suspicious activities.
This latest operation builds on the PNP‑DEG’s momentum earlier this year, having seized ₱50.4 million in drugs in January and ₱25.7 million in February . In 2024 alone, the unit confiscated over ₱2.4 billion worth of narcotics.
