Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee gave her mom, Melanie Marquez, a meaningful gift—a replica of her Miss International 1979 crown that was stolen years ago.

Sa video na shinare ni Michelle sa Instagram, makikitang nasa loob siya ng sasakyan habang hinihintay si Melanie.

When Melanie entered the car, inabot ni Michelle ang box kung nasaan ang replica crown. Melanie opened it, surprised and in awe of the crown’s beauty, saying, “Ang ganda naman nito.”

Sa caption ng post niya, shinare ni Michelle ang kwento kung bakit yun ang naging regalo niya sa mom niya.

“Everyday is Mother’s Day and everyday is your birthday! But years ago, my mom’s original Miss International 1979 crown was stolen. She never got it back,” aniya.

Idinagdag din ni Michelle na naging possible ang surprise with the help of Voltaire Tayag. Voltaire is a respected pageant consultant and currently serves as the Director for Communications of the Miss Universe Philippines Organization.

“So after careful planning with Sir. V (@voltairetayag), I gave her something close enough.. a replica with details I never even knew about,” she added.

“To my REYNA! I love you,” she concluded the caption post.

Maaalalang si Melanie Marquez ang kinoronahang Miss International noong 1979, making her the third Filipina to win the title. At just 15 years old, she also became the youngest winner in the history of the international pageant.
