Nearly two years after the release of HBO’s Emmy-winning original series The Last of Us, the much-anticipated second season is set to premiere this April. The announcement was made by co-creator, writer, and executive producer Neil Druckmann during Sony’s press conference on January 7.
Returning cast members include Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, Gabriel Luna, and Rutina Wesley. Joining them are newly announced cast members Kaitlyn Dever, Isabela Merced, Young Mazino, and Ariela Barer.
The Last of Us, based on the popular video game series created by Naughty Dog for PlayStation, is written and executive produced by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. The show follows a dramatic story of a parasitic fungal infection that spreads across the planet, turning infected people into violent creatures.
