NAGA CITY — Leni Robredo has approved an ordinance providing ₱500 daily fuel vouchers to public utility jeepney (PUJ) drivers for one month, as part of efforts to cushion the impact of rising fuel costs.
Under the ordinance, eligible jeepney drivers operating within the city will receive fuel vouchers distributed through transport cooperatives, with partner gas stations facilitating redemption.
City officials have allocated more than ₱4.7 million for the program, sourced from local funds, to ensure immediate relief while awaiting additional support from national government agencies.
The initiative is also designed to help stabilize fares by easing operational costs for drivers, while local authorities oversee its implementation through transport and cooperative offices.
