Canadian national arrested at NAIA with ₱164M worth of shabu

CAMP CRAME, Quezon City – A Canadian woman was arrested after authorities seized a total of ₱164 million worth of shabu during an interdiction operation at NAIA Terminal 3 in Pasay City on Monday, July 14.
According to Brig. Gen. Edwin Quilates, acting director of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG), the controlled delivery operation was conducted at around 2:00 p.m. at the Customs International Arrival Area of the said airport.
The operation led to the arrest of a certain Olivia, 62 years old, an assistant paralegal specializing in HR management and a resident of Westwood Rd., Thornhill, Ontario, Canada.

Confiscated during the operation were 24,231 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of ₱164,770,800.
The recovered pieces of evidence were immediately brought to the PDEA Laboratory Service at the National Headquarters in Quezon City for laboratory analysis and examination.
The interdiction operation was a collaborative effort between the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group and PDEG, which was a key participant in the said operation.
Quilates said, “This successful interception at NAIA demonstrates the ongoing commitment of our operational teams to combating illegal drugs.”
