CIBAC Rep. Eddie Villanueva lauds Trump’s inauguration, supports two-gender policy

MANILA – CIBAC Party-List Representative Bro. Eddie Villanueva extended his congratulations to Donald J. Trump on his inauguration as the 45th President of the United States, expressing optimism that his leadership will help uphold Christian principles both in America and globally.

Villanueva commended Trump’s acknowledgment of God’s authority, saying it was inspiring to see a leader with such values in a position of global influence.

“It is indeed refreshing and inspiring to see a leader, who acknowledges God’s sovereignty, occupying the most powerful position in America, if not in the world. We have nothing for President Trump but wholehearted prayers that God would grant him wisdom, strength, and guidance as he embarks on this significant role,” he said.

The congressman also emphasized the importance of Trump’s commitment to both Americans and the world.

“He carries the responsibility not only to the American people to make America great again but also to the global community to uphold values rooted in God’s Word,” Villanueva added.

Particularly, Villanueva praised Trump’s policy of recognizing only male and female genders, as mentioned in his inaugural speech, and criticized ideologies promoting gender diversity.

“President Trump’s policy of recognizing male and female as the only genders will re-establish order in American society and families, which have been confused and destroyed by woke ideologies. It will save the lives of many young people who are being deceived into ‘transitioning’ to opposite genders through the lies being peddled in schools and in the media,” he stated.

Villanueva also expressed hope for strengthened US-Philippine relations under Trump’s presidency, highlighting the enduring partnership between the two nations.

“The US has been a steadfast partner of the Philippines in areas such as trade, security, and development. We look forward to revitalized cooperation under President Trump’s leadership, not only in areas of tangible benefits but also advancing shared values like democracy, human rights, and moral integrity,” Villanueva said.

He prayed for Trump’s administration, asking that God guide his actions and empower him to foster good governance and global stability.

“As it is written in Proverbs 9:10, ‘The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,’ may his faith lead to wise and righteous decisions that will uplift not only the American people but also the rest of the world,” Villanueva said.

Donald Trump won the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election, defeating Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris. His campaign centered on promises to restore American greatness, secure the border, and revitalize the economy.

Trump won his first term in 2016, defeating former Secretary of State and U.S. Senator Hillary Clinton. His initial term as the 45th president of the United States was marked by a tough stance on immigration, economic nationalism, and his “America First” policies, which included a focus on job creation and tax cuts. His unfiltered rhetoric resonated with a significant portion of the electorate, particularly those who saw him as a political outsider challenging the establishment.

In the 2020 election, Trump ran for re-election but lost to Joe Biden. Despite his loss, he maintained a strong base of support, which he leveraged in the 2024 campaign to reclaim the presidency.
