“I was actually surprised that I got in. I know I did my best in the screening. But looking at the other girls and seeing how beautiful they are kind of gave me another thinking. But I knew that God wants me to do this. To fight for my dreams,” paliwanag niya.

“I was feeling so much doubt in myself. I’ve almost had 3 years hiatus from pageantry so I feel like it’s a new thing to me again,” kuwento ni Ria.

“Eventually, a pageant came. And I decided to take a leave from work for that certain pageant. It was hard actually. But you know, if it’s really what you want, you can make a way to make it happen. It’s always about knowing your priorities and managing your time well,” aniya.

“My mom was the first one who believed in me. It was actually her dream to be a beauty queen. But it didn’t happen. And it eventually became mine. Since then, pageants have become part of my life,” ibinahagi ni Ria.

“I know for a fact that Bulacan is home to many of our national heroes and that says a lot about our strong determination in pursuing success as an individual and in leading our people,” paliwanag niya.

“I know that Miss Word upholds the value of a beauty with a purpose. And this gives me a deeper reason why I want to join and win. Not only to make my dreams come true, but to seek my purpose in life and to be of greater service to others in need,” aniya.

Pilipinas-World 1998.
