Human rights groups call for arrest of Bong Go, Bato dela Rosa over ICC case
Angelo Calixtro February 16, 2026 at 10:24 PMMANILA — International Coalition for Human Rights in the Philippines (ICHRP) and drug war victims are calling for the immediate arrest of Senators Christopher Lawrence Bong Go and Ronald Bato dela Rosa, along with other individuals identified as alleged co-perpetrators of former president Rodrigo Duterte in the crimes against humanity case filed before the International Criminal Court (ICC).
According to the groups, accountability should extend beyond the former president to include officials who allegedly played key roles in the implementation of the government’s anti-drug campaign, which they say resulted in thousands of deaths.
They stressed that swift action is necessary to uphold justice for the victims and their families.
The calls come amid renewed attention to ICC documents that reportedly identified several officials as alleged co-perpetrators in connection with the case.
Human rights advocates said these developments underscore the need for decisive legal action at the international level.
On Saturday, Senator Go strongly denied allegations that he was among former President Rodrigo Duterte’s “co-perpetrators” in the brutal war on drugs, which claimed the lives of thousands of mostly poor Filipinos.
“I dispute these allegations which are entirely unfounded, one-sided, unfair and bear no relation to the reality of my roles and responsibilities during my service as Special Assistant to the President from June 2016 to October 2018 as well as Executive Assistant to the Mayor of Davao City from 1998 to 2016,” he said.
Senator Dela Rosa, who has been absent from Senate sessions since November 2025, has yet to issue a statement on the matter.
