MANILA – Eraserheads announced that guitarist Marcus Adoro will not be participating in the band’s upcoming projects following allegations of rape and sexual harassment against him.
In an announcement by the band’s executive producer and director, Diane Ventura, along with a tag to the band’s frontman, Ely Buendia, the recent allegations against Marcus Adoro that surfaced online were acknowledged.
“As proponents of justice, we unequivocally condemn all criminal acts and stand against abuse of any form. Above all, we seek the truth,” said the caption.
It was also acknowledged that Adoro will address the issue and will be out of the band’s upcoming activities.
“As Marcus makes time to address the matter at hand, he will be stepping back from the upcoming project.”
The allegations against Adoro started after reddit user @NMomThrowaway12345 claimed that the guitarist raped her during her high school days.
“F*** this guy for telling me masuwerte ako na hindi niya na all-the-way dahil lang nagpupumiglas ako. Every time I see his face, I fall into despair because of how unfair it is that people can forgive and forget so easily,” @NMomThrowaway12345 said in her post on March 29.
“He is a known and recorded abuser of women. He beat Barbara Ruaro. He abused his own child – going as far as telling Syd that she will be raped. He raped me and countless other women – tried to rape one acquaintance of mine, as well,” she added.
The band recently concluded their ‘Huling El Bimbo World Tour’ in December 2024. They are currently preparing for their reunion concert on May 31 at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Pasay City.
