“I DON’T WANT TO PLAY THE VICTIM HERE. NAGKAMALI RIN TALAGA AKO.”

This was part of Maris Racal’s statement on the cheating controversy, where she and co-star Anthony Jennings were accused of cheating on his ex-girlfriend, Jam Villanueva.

“I want to say sorry to those people I have hurt. I reached out to Jam last November and I didn’t get a reply,” Maris said during an exclusive press conference with her network, ABS-CBN.

“I’m truly sorry to those people who supported me for 10 years. Alam nila lahat na ginapang ko yung career ko mapunta lang san ko gusto,” she continued.

Racal also admitted feeling deeply ashamed and embarrassed since the issue started. It can be recalled that screenshots of private conversations between her and Anthony, which included intimate messages, had been made public.

“Yung dignidad ko hindi ko na mahanap. Whenever I go out, whenever I walk I feel like a naked woman walking. I’m so embarrassed and I’m sorry you get to see that,” she said, expressing her remorse.

As of now, Anthony Jennings has not released any statement regarding the matter, even as he and Maris have reportedly lost endorsement deals, such as with Mang Inasal.

Meanwhile, Jam Villanueva has not posted anything further about the controversy since sharing the screenshots on her Instagram story.
