CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — The Central Luzon Police have deployed almost 1,000 personnel in the seven provinces of the region for the opening of classes to provide public safety and police visibility in schools, colleges, universities, and nearby areas.

Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., Central Luzon regional police director, said the said places are most likely to be the target areas of criminal elements as students start to go to schools.

Police assistance desks manned by a team with a police commissioned officer are also established in schools and other learning institutions to pre-empt problems and promptly respond to any eventuality.

Hidalgo directed all field officers to personally visit the different schools and coordinate with school officials in order to deter lawless elements from engaging in illegal activities such as hold-ups, pick-pocketing, snatching, drug pushing, and even the kidnapping of hapless students.

Police personnel are also working hand in hand with the traffic auxiliaries in traffic control and direction to provide a smooth flow of traveling students to and from their schools in the different cities/provinces of the region.

“Once again, I am calling for the cooperation of the public to prevent any crime in the community, especially in our learning institutions, by providing the authorities relevant and timely information through PRO3 hotline 0998-5985330/ 0917-5562597 and social media (Facebook account: Pio Campolivas),” Hidalgo added.

Meanwhile, a total of 2,259,826 learners have officially enrolled in different schools in Central Luzon for the current school year.
