TGIS stars mourn Red Sternberg’s sudden passing

The sudden death of actor Red Sternberg has left his fellow “TGIS” stars heartbroken. On social media, Angelu de Leon, Michael Flores, and Ciara Sotto each posted broken heart emojis to mourn their beloved friend.

Red was best known for his role as “Kiko” in the hit 1990s youth show TGIS, which aired on GMA-7. His co-stars often called him by this character name with affection.

TGIS director Mark Reyes also expressed his grief in a Facebook post.

“The entire T.G.I.S Barkada is heartbroken to lose one of our own…Kiko, we love you and we’re giving you a group hug right now,” he wrote.

His wife, Sandy, confirmed the heartbreaking news through a Facebook post, which was later shared online.

Sternberg, whose full name was Rodwick Sternberg, passed away on May 27. He was just three days away from his 51st birthday.

“My husband suddenly passed away the morning of Tuesday, May 27th. To those who knew him from his early acting days, he was “Kiko,” but to our three kids and I he was simply Daddy/Dada. Today would have been his 51st birthday,” Sandy wrote on her caption.

“Memorial arrangements will be shared soon,” she added.
