CAPAS, TARLAC – In a heartbreaking rescue on November 7, a dog named Juana was saved from a brutal fate in the dog meat trade.

The Animal Kingdom Foundation, which shared Juana’s story, said the dog was found on the side of the road with her paws and mouth tightly tied. She had been sold and was on the verge of death.

Thanks to the quick response of the Animal Kingdom Foundation—an NGO dedicated to rescuing and caring for animals—along with the Soi Dog Foundation, CIDG PFU Ilocos Sur, and local advocates, Juana is now safe. She has been moved to a Rescue and Rehabilitation Center in Capas, Tarlac, where she will receive care and a new chance at life.

The Animal Kingdom Foundation hopes her journey will remind people of the importance of protecting animals from such cruelty. To follow Juana’s recovery and the efforts to help other dogs like her, the foundation encourages the public to share her story and support their ongoing work.
