Alice Guo now in Pasig City Jail

MANILA — Former Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo, also known as Guo Hua Ping, was transferred to the Pasig City Jail’s female dormitory on Monday morning.

The transfer followed an order from the Pasig Regional Trial Court Branch 167, which found probable cause to proceed with the trial of Guo and her co-accused in connection with a qualified human trafficking case.

Guo will be detained with 44 other Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs).

Her transfer was initially scheduled for Friday evening, but the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) postponed it due to incomplete documentation.

Guo’s arraignment and pre-trial are set for Sept. 27 at 8:30 a.m. via videoconference. She is accused of facilitating a large-scale illegal online fraud network in Bamban, Tarlac during her term as mayor.
