MIAG-AO, Iloilo – Independent senatorial candidate and former senator Bam Aquino is calling for the urgent passage of the P200 legislated wage hike bill currently pending in Congress, emphasizing the need to ease the burden on Filipino workers amid rising prices and low wages.
“Sa mga manggagawa, meron pong legislated wage increase, 200 pesos. Kailangan po mapasa na iyan. Napakahalaga na matulungan na natin ang ating manggagawa,” Aquino said during a dialogue with various sectors in Miag-ao, Iloilo on Tuesday.
Aquino stressed that the proposed wage hike is a necessary measure to help working Filipinos cope with the skyrocketing cost of living and inadequate salaries. He vowed to push for its passage if given the chance to return to the Senate.

In the same event, Aquino also reiterated his commitment to advocate for a P2,000 monthly social pension for all senior citizens.
“Ito pong dagdag na P2,000 para sa mga senior, dadaan din po yan sa Senado. Kailangan matulungan natin ang mga senior citizen,” he said.
Aquino’s platform continues to focus on pro-people legislation, aiming to address the urgent needs of laborers and the elderly across the country.
