CITY OF MALOLOS — Controversial Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo reportedly operates an embroidery business registered in Marilao town, tapping into the export market, as confirmed by a village official in a radio interview on Friday.
Roberto Gil del Rosario, a Barangay Kagawad of Patubig, Marilao town, confirmed on the “Rommel Ramos Po” radio program on Radyo Bandera Central Luzon 90.3FM that Alice Guo holds a barangay business clearance for QJJ Embroidery Center located on Maligaya Street in the said village, managed by the Bamban Mayor.

The barangay kagawad stated that the embroidery center was last registered in their village on January 17 this year, is currently undergoing expansion, and has been operational for several years, engaging in the export market.
Besides the mentioned business in Bulacan, del Rosario disclosed that, based on his knowledge, the Tarlac mayor is also involved in the piggery industry in the province.
On various occasions over the past several years, Mayor Guo has invited Barangay Patubig officials to celebratory gatherings and conversed with them fluently in Tagalog, according to the village official.
Del Rosario believes that Guo is Chinese and was born in the Philippines, which is why she is fluent in the Tagalog dialect.

Regarding the issue of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs), del Rosario stated, “Sa pagkakaalam ko po ay yung sinasabing POGO ay naibenta na noong mga nakaraang taon pa.”
The controversial mayor faces a plan by the Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) to file a quo warranto case against her, recently backed by two members of the House of Representatives.
Quo warranto is a legal remedy used to challenge a person’s right to hold a public or corporate office.
Meanwhile, Guo is also under investigation at the Senate for her alleged involvement in the illegal operation of POGOs in Tarlac province.
