CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — More than 2,000 job order (JO) workers from the provincial government of Batanes are now included in the Social Security System KaSSSangga Collect Program (KCP).

The SSS Luzon Central 2 Division Office reported that the province of Batanes has become the newest implementer of the program after the agency’s president and chief executive officer, Rolando Ledesma Macasaet, and Batanes Governor Marilou Cayco recently signed a memorandum of agreement that allows the provincial government’s JO workers to receive social security coverage under the KCP.

Macasaet explained that under the KCP, JO workers from provincial local government units will be registered as SSS self-employed members, with the Batanes provincial government serving as the SSS collecting partner. The provincial government will collect the contributions of the JO workers through a salary deduction scheme and remit them to the SSS.

He explained that JO workers, as self-employed members, can avail themselves of SSS benefits such as sickness, maternity, disability, retirement, death, and funeral benefits.

“They can also avail themselves of loan privileges such as salary and calamity loans,” Macasaet noted.

In addition to SSS benefits, these JO workers are entitled to receive Employees’ Compensation benefits in case of work-connected sickness, injury, or death, Macasaet added.
