Checkpoint evader with P2.2M worth of shabu arrested in hot-pursuit operation

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – A drug suspect carrying P2.2 million worth of suspected shabu was arrested during a hot-pursuit operation early morning on January 17 in Pampanga.

The suspect, a resident of Barangay San Vicente, Cabiao, Arayat, was flagged down at a checkpoint in Barangay Mapalad but sped off instead of stopping, prompting the pursuit, according to Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, Central Luzon police director.

The chase ended in Barangay Plazang Luma, where the suspect was intercepted and arrested.

During the inspection, authorities seized approximately 334 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P2,271,200.

The suspect and the confiscated illegal drugs were brought to the Pampanga Police Provincial Office for proper legal documentation and further investigation.
