MANILA, Philippines — In response to the devastating impact of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine in Naga City, a recent donation drive led by the Kaya Natin! Movement, the Jesse M. Robredo Foundation, and Angat Buhay has successfully raised over PhP22.8 million. The funds, gathered through cash and check donations from generous supporters, aim to provide immediate relief and support recovery efforts for the affected communities.
Although the donation channels for cash contributions officially closed at 5:00 PM yesterday (October 27), the final tally of funds is still pending as some check donations await clearance on the next banking day. The organizers are currently reviewing and recording all transaction slips sent via email and other communication channels to ensure full accountability and transparency.

“MARAMING SALAMAT PO Sa pagtatapos ng #BangonNAGA donation drive ng Kaya Natin! Movement at Jesse M. Robredo Foundation, nakapag-raise tayo ng higit ₱22.8 million para sa mga nasalanta ng bagyong #KristinePH sa Naga City,” said former Vice President Leni Robredo in her Facebook post.
“These figures are not final, as Kaya Natin and JMRF wait for donations made via check deposits to be cleared on the next banking day,” Robredo added.
Alongside cash donations, Angat Buhay continues to accept bulk in-kind contributions, which can be dropped off at Museo ng Pag-asa, located at 84 Cordillera St., Sta. Mesa Heights, Quezon City.

Recently, Sogo Cares, the corporate social responsibility arm of Sogo Hotel, donated PhP275,000 worth of relief goods to Angat Buhay. The donation includes sacks of rice, canned goods, coffee, instant noodles, along with 800 towels and 800 blankets and bedsheets for the victims.
A fleet of trucks carrying these in-kind donations has already navigated flood-affected areas and is now en route to Naga City, ensuring that aid reaches the region as quickly as possible.

Angat Buhay has pledged to keep the public informed of ongoing relief and recovery efforts, emphasizing that every donation will support disaster response operations in the affected areas.
The Kaya Natin! Movement and Jesse M. Robredo Foundation expressed their profound gratitude to all donors, highlighting that the support received exemplifies the strength of solidarity in times of adversity.
