MANILA, Philippines – Acting Secretary of Trade and Industry Ma. Cristina Roque announced on Friday that the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) financing arm, Small Business (SB) Corporation, has allocated PHP2 billion in funds to provide financial support to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) impacted by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.
During a Palace briefing, Roque shared that affected MSMEs are eligible to receive loans of up to PHP300,000 from SB Corporation under the Enterprise Rehabilitation Financing program. This loan initiative is designed to help small businesses rebuild and recover from disaster-related damages.
“We have now PHP2 billion fund for the enterprise rehabilitation financing. So, they can email SB Corporation through their email address and avail of the loan,” Roque said.
The loans come with favorable terms for MSMEs, including a zero-interest rate during the first year. A minimal yield of 1 percent per month will be applied in subsequent years as the loans are repaid.
Roque emphasized that this program is an accessible way for MSMEs to rebuild their businesses and navigate recovery post-storm.
Business owners interested in applying can reach SB Corporation through their official website at sbcorp.gov.ph or by emailing sbcorporation@sbcorp.gov.ph.
