Senators Imee Marcos and Robin Padilla expressed their dismay over the impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte, saying the hearings come at a time when the country is facing multiple crises.
God help us.” Padilla wrote in a social media post on Wednesday.
Senator Marcos on Thursday stressed that impeachment and politics seem to take precedence over addressing the growing problems of Filipinos.
The impeachment case against Vice President Duterte continue to move forward in the House of Representatives, in accordance with constitutional processes for accountability of public officials. The complaints include allegations of misuse of confidential funds, failure to properly disclose assets, bribery, and abuse of power.
