BATAAN — President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Friday visited Mariveles to inspect newly constructed prefabricated classrooms aimed at addressing the country’s persistent shortage of school facilities.
The classrooms, located at Mariveles National High School – Alasasin Annex, were completed in nearly two weeks. Government officials said the structures will benefit at least 1,031 students, with each classroom designed to accommodate 35 to 40 learners in line with standard class sizes.
The visit forms part of the administration’s broader push to ease overcrowding in public schools through faster and more scalable construction methods, particularly in high-density areas.
Alongside the inspection, 300 learning tablets were distributed to students, part of a larger rollout of 9,660 devices allocated to 66 schools nationwide. The initiative is intended to strengthen digital learning capabilities and improve access to educational resources.
The government also delivered health services under the YAKAP Program Philippines and Kalinga Program Philippines, benefiting around 500 residents in Mariveles. Services included basic medical consultations and other community health interventions.
