NAGA CITY– Leni Robredo has ruled out a Senate run and expressed her preference to seek the mayorship of Naga in 2025.
In an interview following Bishop Luisito Occiano’s episcopal ordination on Friday at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Peñafrancia and Minor Basilica in Naga City, Robredo stated, “Sinarado ko na kaya nagpaalam na ako sa LP.
She plans to run for Naga City mayor in next year’s elections but will refrain from making an official announcement until she completes several tasks, including informing her Angat Buhay Foundation family and fulfilling her obligations and speaking engagements.
Maraming kunsiderasyon kaya matagal ang pagdesisyon,” Robredo added, justifying her preference to run for Naga mayor.
LP President and Representative for Albay 1st District Edcel Lagman originally made known Robredo’s intention to run for the Naga mayoral seat, which was previously held by her late husband, former Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo.
