MANILA, Philippines – “Jay Kamote,” “Miggy Mango,” and other questionable names—alleged recipients of Vice President Sara Duterte’s confidential funds—have been discovered. House Deputy Majority Leader Francisco Paolo Ortega V said the use of false identities for supposed fund recipients could further strengthen the impeachment case against Duterte.

Ortega, who represents La Union’s 1st District, revealed that seven questionable names were not found in the records of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). The names “Jay Kamote” and “Miggy Mango” were flagged as suspicious and likely fictitious due to their use of food as surnames.

Additionally, five other names—all sharing the first name “Dodong” but with different surnames—were identified as Dodong Alcala, Dodong Bina, Dodong Bunal, Dodong Darong, and Dodong S. Barok.

“Una, may chichirya at cellphone, ngayon, may prutas at kamote na. At higit sa lahat, mukhang Dodong Gang na ito. Hindi lang isa, hindi lang tatlo, limang Dodong ang nasa listahan,” Ortega said.

Ortega added that these latest findings further reinforce allegations of “ghost expenses” or fraudulent disbursements of confidential funds under Duterte’s watch.

“Anong klaseng payroll ito? Imaginary? Hindi natin matukoy kung totoong tao ba ang mga tumanggap ng perang galing sa confidential and intelligence funds,” he said in his statement.

The alleged irregularities in the acknowledgment receipts serve as crucial documentary evidence of the confidential fund and were cited as grounds for Duterte’s impeachment.

They constitute the second article in the fourth impeachment complaint filed against the Vice President, which concerns the alleged misuse of confidential funds.

The acknowledgment receipts are among the few documents auditors use to assess whether the funds were appropriately used and serve as crucial documentary evidence of confidential fund disbursements.
