MANILA — Entertainment reporter and talent manager Ogie Diaz has thrown his support behind the senatorial candidacy of former Senator Bam Aquino, naming him among his top choices for the May elections.
In his YouTube show Ogie Diaz Showbiz Update, Diaz openly endorsed Aquino, alongside former Senator Kiko Pangilinan and former Commission on Audit Commissioner Heidi Mendoza, describing them as trustworthy leaders.

“Iyan, matitino ‘yan, ako na nagsasabi sa inyo, matitino yang tatlo na ‘yan,” Diaz said. His co-hosts, Mama Loi Villarama and Tita Jegs, also backed his choices, affirming they, too, would vote for Aquino, Pangilinan, and Mendoza.

Growing Celebrity Support for Aquino
Beyond Diaz, a long list of celebrities, musicians, and influencers have voiced their support for Aquino’s Senate run. Actors and TV personalities like Dingdong Dantes, Edu Manzano, Janno Gibbs, Jolina Magdangal, and Marjorie Barretto have joined the endorsement, along with renowned singers and industry figures such as Jim Paredes, Mark Escueta, Bayang Barrios, and Mitch Valdez.
Musicians from various genres—including hip-hop, rock, and P-Pop—have also backed Aquino, highlighting his interest in championing the creative industry. Notable names include DJ Medmessiah, Morobeats, Chelsea Alley (formerly Slapshock), and the P-Pop girl group Yara.
Aquino’s Commitment to the Music Industry
Aquino recently met with Filipino musicians to discuss policies aimed at strengthening the local music industry. He emphasized the need to protect artists’ intellectual property, combat digital piracy, and provide health insurance for musicians who often face erratic working conditions.
“Kilala ang mga Pilipino sa ating galing sa musika. Ito ang isa sa mga naglagay sa atin sa mapa. Kailangan pa natin itong palakasin para makatuklas ng mga bago pang talento,” Aquino stated.
He vowed to push for policies that would secure the livelihood of Filipino artists and ensure that their work is protected under stronger intellectual property laws.
The musicians welcomed his commitment, expressing optimism that he could be a champion for the creative industry if elected.
Aquino’s Senate Platform

Aside from advocating for the arts and entertainment sector, Aquino has pledged to expand the free college law, ensuring subsidies cover additional school expenses. He has also committed to pushing for policies that guarantee employment for Filipinos.
With growing endorsements from entertainment personalities and musicians, Aquino’s campaign gains momentum as he seeks a return to the Senate in the upcoming elections.
