P340k worth of shabu seized in Cagayan de Oro buy-bust; High-value suspect nabbed

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – In a coordinated anti-drug operation led by the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP DEG), authorities seized an estimated P340,000 worth of suspected shabu and arrested a high-value individual (HVI) in Brgy. Camaman-an, Cagayan de Oro City late evening of April 28, 2025.

The buy-bust operation was carried out at around 11:47 PM in Paglaum, Brgy. Camaman-an by operatives of the Special Operations Unit 10, PNP DEG under the command of PCol. Ronald Briones.

Arrested during the sting was a 35-year-old male suspect identified by the alias “Duca,” tagged as a high-value individual in the region’s drug watchlist.

Authorities confiscated approximately 50 grams of suspected shabu from the suspect, with a Standard Drug Price estimated at P340,000, along with other non-drug items.

The suspect is currently under temporary detention at the SOU 10, PNP DEG office. Meanwhile, the seized drug evidence will be submitted to the Regional Forensic Unit 10 in Patag, Cagayan de Oro City for laboratory examination.

The operation was conducted in collaboration with multiple regional units including the Regional Explosive Canine Unit 10, Regional Intelligence Unit 10, Regional Intelligence Division 10, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 10, Maritime Group 10, Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 10, City Drug Enforcement Unit, PDEA Misamis Oriental, and Police Station 2 of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office.
