MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon — An active police officer in Bukidnon was arrested after allegedly holding up a 7-11 convenience store at gunpoint, authorities said.
Cpl. Danny Javiero — assigned to the Malaybalay City Police Station — was arrested Tuesday morning at his home in Barangay Damilag, less than two hours after the heist, police said.
The 35-year-old cop allegedly loitered outside the convenience store in Purok-13, Barangay Damilag, around 4 a.m. before strolling in, buying a small item, and then pulling a gun on the cashier, according to investigators.
He allegedly made off with more than ₱12,000 in cash before fleeing.

The store’s 59-year-old owner, a resident of Barangay Tankulan, immediately called police, triggering a rapid manhunt led by Lt. Col. Evary Bacunawa of the Manolo Fortich Municipal Police. Officers stormed Javiero’s home around 8:40 a.m., where they found the stolen cash.

Police leadership condemned the alleged crime, saying such actions “tarnish the integrity of the service” and promising to hold erring personnel fully accountable under the law.
Javiero remains in custody while prosecutors prepare formal charges.
