PULILAN, Bulacan — President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the inauguration of the P7.8-billion North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Candaba 3rd Viaduct on Tuesday, December 10, marking a significant milestone in the administration’s infrastructure agenda.
The five-kilometer-long viaduct, which began construction last year, connects Pulilan, Bulacan, and Apalit, Pampanga. Built between two existing bridges, the new structure aims to enhance regional connectivity and ease traffic congestion along the vital expressway.
In his speech, the President emphasized the viaduct’s role in driving economic growth and regional development in Central Luzon, citing its potential to boost business opportunities and tourism.

“The 3rd Viaduct enhances the capacity of this expressway, reduces congestion, and ensures faster, more efficient travel. Standing as a testament to this Administration’s commitment to the ‘Build Better More’ program, this also shows that we are building the foundation to nurture the development of our countryside,” Marcos said.
He highlighted the importance of infrastructure in facilitating the movement of goods, services, and people, underscoring its impact on trade, tourism, and economic expansion.
The President also assured the public of the viaduct’s durability, noting that it was designed with cutting-edge engineering to withstand natural challenges and serve future generations.
“Let us build infrastructure projects with future challenges in mind. Remain focused on pursuing initiatives that uplift lives, build communities, and most importantly, meet the needs of the future that we hope to build for our children and their children,” he said.
