PSA to lawmakers: Mary Grace Piattos not in our database

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has confirmed that they have no record of a certain “Mary Grace Piattos” in their database.

The PSA stated that the name “Mary Grace Piattos” has a “negative record” of birth, marriage, and death in the “PSA Civil Registry system database.” The agency, in a certification addressed to the House Good Government and Public Accountability Committee Chair, Manila Rep. Joel Chua, indicated it could conduct further verification if additional details, such as the subject’s parents’ names, are provided.

The name Mary Grace Piattos surfaced during the House committee’s investigation into Vice President Sara Duterte’s alleged misuse of PHP612.5 million in confidential funds by the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and the Department of Education (DepEd).

Lawmakers uncovered discrepancies in acknowledgment receipts, including missing signatures, similarities in handwriting, and mismatched dates.

House Assistant Majority Leader and Zambales Rep. Jay Khonghun remarked, “Si Mary Grace Piattos kasi yung may pinakamalaking nakuha dun. Kais it follows na kapag wala si Mary Grace Piattos, sigurado halos lahat ng tao na nandun is fictitious na.”
