Ralph Recto to take his oath as Secretary of Finance

Malacañang has declared that Batangas Representative Ralph Recto is set to be sworn in as the new finance secretary, with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. administering the oath on Friday. This move comes as Recto takes over from Benjamin Diokno.
Speculation about Recto taking over from Diokno has been circulating ever since the legislator accompanied Marcos on his journey to the United States for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum in November 2023.
Recto, a former senator, briefly served as the head of the National Economic and Development Authority under the administration of former president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
