Sen. Hontiveros joins Akbayan’s house-to-house campaign in Tondo

MANILA — Senator Risa Hontiveros marked the first day of the 2025 campaign period by joining Akbayan Partylist in a house-to-house campaign in Tondo, Manila, expressing her strong support for the party and its first nominee, Atty. Chel Diokno.

Hontiveros and Diokno led a community walk through Jacinto, Lacson, Llana, and Varona, accompanied by Akbayan volunteers, Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) members, and student leaders. They later visited residents from Ugbo to Barangay 105 Covered Court, engaging them in discussions about Akbayan’s platform.

During the event, Hontiveros highlighted the importance of electing allies in the Senate and Congress who will advocate for pro-people policies. Aside from supporting Diokno’s bid, she also backed former senators Kiko Pangilinan and Bam Aquino, both of whom are seeking a return to the Senate.

The house-to-house campaign in Tondo is part of Akbayan’s broader effort to connect with communities and rally support for its candidates ahead of the May 2025 elections.
