TRB announces NLEX toll hike effective January 20

MANILA — The Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) has announced a toll hike at the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) starting Tuesday, January 20.
The TRB said the adjustment represents the second and final tranche of the previously approved 2022 petition filed by NLEX Corporation.
For the Open System (Balintawak, Caloocan, Mindanao Ave to north of Marilao), the additional toll rates are ₱6.00 for Class 1, ₱12.00 for Class 2, and ₱16.00 for Class 3.
In the Closed System (north of Marilao to Sta. Ines, Mabalacat City), the additional toll rate per kilometer (VAT exclusive) is ₱0.26 for Class 1, ₱0.65 for Class 2, and ₱0.78 for Class 3.
At Subic-Tipo, an additional ₱3.00 for Class 1, ₱6.00 for Class 2, and ₱7.00 for Class 3 will be implemented.
For those traveling NLEX end-to-end (Metro Manila to Sta. Ines, Mabalacat City), the additional toll rates are ₱24.00, ₱60.00, and ₱72.00 for Class 1, 2, and 3 respectively.
“This periodic toll rate adjustment shall enable NLEX to sustain its efforts to continue operating and maintaining the expressway in accordance with the required standards and pursue the improvements and expansions needed for the motorists to have a pleasant, safe and comfortable travel experience at the NLEX,” the TRB said.
