Congressman Arnie Teves, binuweltahan ang mga nagsasangkot sa kanya sa pagpatay kay Governor Roel Degamo

Binuweltahan ni Negros Oriental Third District Rep. Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves ang mga taong diumano’y gusto siyang idawit sa brutal na pagpaslang kay Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo noong Sabado, March 4.

Sa mahigit labing-anim (16) na minutong mensahe sa kanyang Facebook page noong March 6, binigyang diin ng mambabatas na wala siyang kinalaman sa krimen. Pilit lang daw siyang isinasangkot ng isang taong hindi niya pinangalanan.

“Napag-alaman ko kasi sa aking intel na gusto talaga ako idiin ng isa diyan. Nagkamali siya ng salita dahil hindi niya alam na marami akong kakilala. Alam mo kung sino ka. Huwag niyo naman sana akong gawin na isang instrumento para sa inyong pagsikat,” ayon kay Teves.

Iginiit din ni Teves na wala silang mapapala ng kanyang kapatid na si Henry sa pagkamatay ng gobernador.

“Kung may balak man ako o may kakayahan na gawin ito, di sana ginawa ko na ito bago pa mag-eleksyon. Anong motibo kung ngayon gagawin, di ba? Hindi rin magiging benepisyaryo ako at ang kapatid ko. Dahil kung mawala ang gobernador, ang uupo naman ang vice governor, hindi naman ang kapatid ko na talagang nanalo nung eleksyon, pero hindi ko alam anong magic na nangyari na pinababa sa pwesto ang aking kapatid,” paliwanag ni Teves.

Si Henry Teves ang nakalaban ni Degamo noong nakaraang eleksyon. Tatlong buwang umupo si Henry sa kapitolyo pero pinawalang-bisa ng COMELEC ang kanyang pagkapanalo at pinababa siya sa posisyon noong Oktubre. Ipinalit sa kanya si Degamo bilang gobernador. Ayon sa desisyon ng COMELEC, nakakuha ng mas maraming boto si Degamo matapos ibigay sa kanya ang natanggap na boto ng isang nuisance candidate. Pinagtibay ng Korte Suprema ang desisyong ito noong isang buwan.

Sinabi rin ng kongresista na inaasahan na raw niya na siya ang babagsakan ng sisi sa nangyari kay Governor Degamo.

“Alam niyo ba, ito ang matagal ko ng kinakatakot na mangyari. Bakit? Expected ko na na ako na naman ang pagbibintangan. Baka wala pa nagsalita openly, but uulitin ko sa inyo katulad ng mga salita ko dati, marami din akong sources of intel. Ngayon, napag-alaman ko na meron ibang mga tao diyan na gusto akong idiin. Ang iba nito gusto lang umepal, gusto magpasikat para sa sarili nilang kapakanan. Wala po akong pinapatamaan, pero alam niyo kung sino kayo,”

Nagdududa rin umano si Congressman Teves sa bilis ng pagkakahuli sa mga suspek.

“Ngayon nakapagtaka kung bakit ang ibang kaso napakatagal tagal ang usad sabay ito pagkabilis bilis na kaagad may mga nahuli daw na mga suspect. Hindi ako nagdedepensa o nagsasabi na hindi ito yung mga suspect pero sa akin lang sobrang galing naman, sobrang bilis, sabay pag ibang tao sobrang tagal bakit ganun,” ani Teves.

“At sa galing nung Nakita ko sa video hindi ako maniniwala na ganun ganun lang kabilis mahuli yung ganung klaseng mga tao. Hayop sa galing parang pansine,” giit pa niya.

Umapela rin si Teves kay Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcios, Jr. na tulungan siyang maibalik ang kanyang lisensya sa baril. Nangangamba rin daw siya para sa kanyang kaligtasan makaraang tanggalan siya ng bodyguard.

“Nakakatakot ang ganitong mga pangyayari kaya ako nananawagan sa ating magaling at mabait na president sir, Mr. President BBM, umaapela ako pakisabihan yung tao nyo na ibalik na ang aking lisensya ng baril para sa aking proteksyon at proteksyon ng aking pamilya,” ani Teves.

Nilinaw din ni Teves na kasalukuyan siyang nasa abroad para magpagamot. Ito raw ang dahilan kung bakit natagalan ang pagbibigay niya ng pahayag.

“Na-delay lang ng konti dahil nasa abroad din ako dahil overdue na ang aking pagpapagamot ng aming pagpapalagay ng aking stem cell ang doktor ko ay hindi bumalik so kailangan ko siyang puntahan,” dagdag pa niya.

Nagpaabot din siya ng pakikiramay sa mga naulila ni Governor Degamo.

“Ito po si Kuya Arnie, nakikiramay sa pamilya ng namatayan dahil masakit mamatayan ng pamilya. Kailan lang binaril ang aking pinsan at hanggang ngayon unresolved pa ang issue,” aniya.
