Two major arrests in Caloocan City: Homicide suspect and alleged drug dealers taken into custody

CALOOCAN CITY — Authorities have made two significant arrests in separate operations, one related to a homicide case and the other targeting illegal drug activities.
Man Most Wanted for Homicide Arrested in Barangay 180
A man wanted in connection with a homicide case was arrested by police operatives on Friday afternoon.
The suspect, whose identity has not yet been disclosed pending the filing of formal charges, was apprehended at around 1:00 p.m. on April 25 along Meramonte Manggahan Street in Barangay 180, Caloocan City.
Police said the operation was conducted based on an arrest warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 77 in Malolos City, Bulacan. The case involves a charge of homicide, with bail set at ₱120,000.
Following the arrest, the suspect was turned over to the District Special Operations Unit (DSOU) office at approximately 2:00 p.m. Authorities confirmed that the operation was properly recorded using an alternative recording device (ARD) in accordance with standard legal protocols.
The suspect is currently being held at the Northern Police District Custodial Facility located on Langaray Street, Barangay 14, Kaunlaran Village, Caloocan City.
Police said the return of the warrant is being processed for submission to the court.
Two Arrested in Barangay Bagong Silang Buy-Bust Operation
In a separate operation just hours earlier, police from the Northern Police District – District Drug Enforcement Unit (NPD-DDEU) arrested two drug suspects in Barangay Bagong Silang.
The suspects, known by their aliases “Andrei,” 24, and “Mark,” 22, were detained during a buy-bust operation carried out in the early hours of Friday, April 25. Both men are residents of the area.
Operatives from the NPD-DDEU, led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Timothy B. Aniway Jr., conducted the operation at approximately 4:07 a.m., with support from Sub-Station 12 of the Caloocan City Police Station. The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) also assisted in the operation, under the overall supervision of Police Colonel Paul Jady D. Doles.
Authorities said approximately 29 grams of suspected high-grade marijuana (kush) and around 950 grams of dried marijuana leaves were recovered, with an estimated standard drug price of ₱157,500.
The confiscated drugs were properly marked at the scene and will be submitted to the Northern Police District Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.
The suspects are expected to face charges for the sale and possession of illegal drugs, as well as conspiracy, under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act 9165).
A formal complaint will be filed before the City Prosecutor’s Office as part of inquest proceedings.
