2 killed as container truck plows through six vehicles in Bulacan

BOCAUE, Bulacan — A live-in partner were killed when a container truck sideswiped the tricycle they were riding in a seven-vehicle smash-ups on Monday afternoon in this town.
Lt. Col. Manuel de Vera Jr., Bocaue police chief identified the fatalities as rice traders Laureano Mendoza and Jennifer Tarog residents of 1333 Barangay Caingin, Bocaue town.

Initial police investigation showed that the accident occured around 2:15 pm along MacArthur Highway in Barangay Wakas in the said town after Juanito Singson Jr., the driver of the Isuzu tractor head truck with license plate RLX-142 lost control of his vehicle due to brake failure.
Bocaue Rescue personnel took around four hours to extricate the body of Mendoza from underneath the truck that dragged his body for several meters while Tarog’s body was thrown off the tricycle upon impact and was run over by the truck.
De Vera said the truck first crashed through a white Toyota Fortuner with license plate NDW-7752, which crashed into the victim’s Bajaj Boxer 150cc tricycle, still awaiting registration, that collided with a white Mitsubishi L-300 aluminum van with license plate CBK-6715. The van then hit a public utility jeep with license plate CWC-337, which in turn bumped into a green Isuzu dropside truck with license plate RFC-684, which hit a white Toyota Cross SUV with license plate NNV 4092.
It was not clear if the other passengers of the other vehicles were hurt.
Meanwhile, Singson was placed under the custody of the Bocaue Police Station and is facing charges for Reckless imprudence resulting to homicide and multiple damages to properties.
