Drug suspect, civilian informant killed in anti-illegal drug ops in Bulacan

CAMP ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan —  A drug suspect and a civilian informant were killed in an anti-illegal drugs operation in Santa Maria town on Tuesday night.

Reports reaching Col. Relly Arnedo, Bulacan police director, identified the drug suspect as alias Alexis and the civilian informant as Bernard Nikki de Guzman.

Initial investigation showed that alias Alexis was being entrapped around 8:35 pm along Sampaguitahan Street, Barangay San Vicente in Santa Maria town.

However, alias Alexis recognized de Guzman and without warning, shot the civilian informant.

Police operatives returned fire and neutralized the drug suspect while de Guzman was rushed to the nearest hospital but died later.
