73-year-old man drowns after falling into irrigation canal

CAMP ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan — A 73-year-old man drowned after reportedly losing his balance while urinating in an irrigation canal in Bocaue town.
A report reaching Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, Central Luzon police director, from Col. Franklin Estoro, acting Bulacan police director, identified the fatality as Mario Estrellado, a widower and resident of NIA Road Street, Barangay Bagumbayan in the said town.
Investigation showed that, based on CCTV footage from the area, the victim was apparently urinating into the irrigation canal around 1:30 a.m. when he lost his balance, fell into the canal, and drowned.
Maj. Isabelo Mondejar, acting Bocaue police chief, reported that the lifeless body of the victim was discovered four hours later by a certain Marlon Dumag.
