99.87% of Central Luzon 2023 BSKE villages already made proclamations
Mon Lazaro November 1, 2023 at 01:58 PMCITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Six of the seven provinces in Central Luzon have already proclaimed 100 percent of the villages for the 2023 Barangay and Sanguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) as of before noontime yesterday (October 31).
Atty. Elmo Duque, Comelec Central Luzon spokesman and assistant regional director, said in a text message to ARKIPELAGO NEWS BULACAN that based on their Monitoring Activities Recording System as of 11:44 am yesterday that the Comelec has already made proclamations on 3,101 barangays out of the total 3,105 villages in the region.
He said that as of the said date and time only four barangays in Bulacan have yet to make their proclamations on the BSKE.
He pointed out that the provinces of Aurora, Bataan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga,Tarlac, and Zambales have made 100 proclamations on its barangays.
Meanwhile, Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., regional police director for Central Luzon, said the 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections held on Monday (October 30) were overall peaceful and orderly with no election-related incidents reported.
The region’s top cop said the heightened presence of police and military personnel, in collaboration with the COMELEC and its partner agencies, as well as extensive information dissemination and community engagement activities conducted by their field commanders, significantly contributed to the successful and orderly conduct of the 2023 BSKE in Region 3.
“Even in the 47 identified election areas of concern, no election-related incidents occurred, exemplifying the effectiveness of our security measures,” Hidalgo added.
