9th Central Luzon Health Research Forum held in Angeles City

The DOH Central Luzon Center for Health Development (CLCHD) in partnership with the Central Luzon Health Research Development Consortium (CLHRDC) hosted the 9th Central Luzon Health Research Forum, at the Best Western Plus Metro Clark, Angeles City on April 25 to 26, 2024.
The primary goal of this event was to cultivate a culture of evidence-informed practice by promoting research utilization, information dissemination, and communication.
The forum was graced by the presence of DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, DOH CLCHD Regional Director Corazon Flores, and OIC-Assistant Regional Director Lailani Mangulabnan. Usec. Vergeire emphasized the importance of establishing a unified agenda to address the region’s priority issues.
“Hopefully, one day, we can all sit together, as one Central Luzon, having our unified agenda addressing specific issues and working together towards integrated solutions for improved health systems,” Vergeire added.
Regional Director Flores reiterated the commitment of DOH CLCHD to enhancing healthcare delivery services through collaborative efforts and shared expertise.
The event featured parallel sessions on Oral Presentations and Digital Poster Research Presentations, where participants presented their research findings on various health topics.
Support for the forum was also extended by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), represented by Undersecretary for Research and Development Dr. Leah J. Buendia, DOST Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD) Executive Director Dr. Jaime Montoya, DOST 3 Regional Director Julius Caesar Sicat, and CLHRDC Consortium Director Engr. Romeolito Tacbian.
Higher Education Regional Office III (CHED-RO III) Regional Director Lora Yusi, represented by Senior Education Supervisor Efren Arbulencia, conveyed the agency’s support for fostering knowledge development systems.
DOST Usec. Buendia highlighted DOST’s investments in health research and innovation resilience and dynamism, while Dr. Montoya emphasized the importance of multi-sectoral collaboration in achieving transformative health outcomes.
Regional Director Sicat emphasized resilience and dynamism as essential elements of sustainable development and recognized the importance of culturally sensitive solutions.
