CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – A motorcycle thief was mobbed and arrested on Tuesday, November 12, after unsuccessfully attempting to steal motorcycles from three consecutive victims in Guiguinto, Bulacan.
Reports reaching Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan, Central Luzon Regional Police Director, identified the suspect as Leonel Feliciano, a resident of Barangay Parada, Sta. Maria, Bulacan. His victims were identified as John Mathew Sus, Edmar Reyes, and Carlo Angelo Maniego.
Initial investigations revealed that the three attempted motorcycle thefts occurred along Cagayan Valley Road in Barangay Sta. Rita, Guiguinto, Bulacan, between 6:10 a.m. and 6:20 a.m.
Feliciano first tried to steal Sus’s black and gray Honda Click 125 by threatening him with a gun while Sus waited in front of a convenience store. However, Feliciano failed to start the motorcycle.
The suspect then ran to the other side of the road and blocked Reyes, who was riding an orange Yamaha Mio I 125S. Feliciano pointed a gun at Reyes and struck him on the head several times. Reyes, however, managed to remove the key from his motorcycle before fleeing the scene.
Feliciano then attempted to take Maniego’s green Yamaha Mio Soul, but before he could speed away, bystanders intervened, knocking him down. He was subsequently apprehended by village watchmen from Sta. Rita.
Feliciano now faces charges for three counts of violating RA 6539 as amended by RA 10883, and for violating RA 10591.
