Arkipelago News March 2, 2023 at 11:42 PM

“After almost two hours we found him almost lifeless and severely injured. We immediately took him to San Fernando City because we’re from Bacnotan pa,” ayon kay Verna.

“Akala namin pinalo lang because his head was severely injured. Upon x-ray, 8 bullets of [an] airgun were found in his head. We were shocked, who would do such a thing? This is very CRUEL and INHUMANE. We were devastated because no clinic can perform surgery around La Union or even nearby provinces, it was only in Metro Manila,” aniya.

“Naka-oxygen pa coz he could barely breathe properly, he endured the 6-hour travel time. Thankfully he was able to make it. Currently, he is confined in Vets in Practice- Taguig, still in a critical condition.”

“Yesterday, during our visit, sobrang himbing ng tulog niya. We were brushing his hair at nakakatuwa siya tignan. He was in his usual self, na naka-belat pa habang tulog. Then suddenly…he had seizure. First time sa ViP, and mas matagal kesa yung seizure niya sa Elyu. They had to put him to sleep para magsubside yung seizure, kasi di kinaya ng 3 dose ng pangpakalma. According sa Vet, these seizures ay posibleng dahil pa sa trauma niya from the gunshots.

As of now, continuous monitoring pa si Ghost at may medication na rin for his seizures. Every tawag or chat from the Vet is nerve-racking, at manginginig ka talaga. Please everyone, help us pray for our baby Ghost. Sana tuloy-tuloy na yung paglakas niya. Our biggy boy is so brave and strong.”

“Please help us po to seek justice for our baby. Please help us po spread awareness to End Animal Cruelty, [and] that animal lives also matter. Prove to us, and to everyone po, that La Union is a Pet and child-friendly province. That it is a safe place for every pets out there. Some say ‘Aso LANG yan’…but big NO! For us, Ghost is OUR CHILD, one of us, our family member, kaya sobrang sakit ng nangyari sa kanya,” pagwawakas ni Verna.
