BOCAUE, Bulacan – Bocaue Vice Mayor Atty. Sherwin Tugna officially filed his certificate of candidacy on October 7, seeking a second term in public service.

Tugna reaffirmed his commitment to the people of Bocaue, particularly in areas such as flood management, job creation, livelihood projects, healthcare improvements, and the provision of free legal services. He is running for re-election under the leadership of Mayor Eduardo “Jonjon” Villanueva Jr.

Emphasizing the importance of unity, Tugna underscored that the success of the projects during his first term was the result of close collaboration with Mayor Villanueva and the councilors of Team Solid Lingkod Bayan.

“Sama-sama nating pinaglingkuran ang mga Bocaueño at tinugunan ang kanilang mga pangunahing pangangailangan sa abot ng aking makakaya. Ang mga nagawa natin ay patunay ng kakayahan nating makamit ang progreso sa pamamagitan ng tunay na pagtutulungan,” Tugna said.

The dredging projects he spearheaded, in cooperation with Mayor Villanueva and the councilors of Team Solid, resulted in faster flood recovery during heavy rains, providing much-needed relief to residents. These efforts also helped protect businesses and livelihoods from prolonged disruptions caused by flooding.

Tugna is also focused on improving livelihoods through his initiatives in job creation and various livelihood projects. His programs have supported small businesses and created employment opportunities for Bocaueños.

“Hindi pa tapos ang ating trabaho. Nakita ko po mismo kung paano nagkaroon ng pagbabago sa buhay ng ating mga kababayan ang ating mga inisyatibo at programa, at determinado akong magpatuloy upang buuin ang isang mas matatag, masagana, at nagkakaisang Bocaue,” he remarked.

He further reiterated his commitment to integrity and good governance, consistently prioritizing the welfare of Bocaueños.

“Habang hinaharap natin ang mga hamon, determinado akong ituloy ang aming nasimulan nina Mayor Jonjon JJV Villanueva at Team Solid Lingkod Bayan Konsehals. Katuwang ang bawat Bocaueño, makakaasa ang lahat na ipagpapatuloy ang serbisyong may malasakit, upang lumikha ng pangmatagalang positibong pagbabago para sa ating bayan,” he emphasized.

Vice Mayor Sherwin Tugna, an Ateneo-educated lawyer and three-term CIBAC Party-list representative, is the husband of the late Joni Villanueva, the well-loved former Mayor of Bocaue. They have four children.
