Body of young girl found in Bocaue River

BOCAUE, Bulacan – The body of a six-year-old girl was recovered from the Bocaue River in Barangay Taal, Bocaue, Bulacan, following a coordinated search and retrieval operation conducted by local rescue teams.
According to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Bocaue, they received an emergency call from Barangay Taal reporting a lifeless body floating in the river. Bocaue Rescue’s Water Team was immediately dispatched to the scene.

Rico Leonardo Siongco, Officer-in-Charge of Bocaue MDRRMO, stated that the child was last seen on Monday. Reports indicated that she had been playing near the river when she accidentally fell in. Her lifeless body was discovered the following day.

At the time of the incident, San Jose Rescue teams were conducting a separate search and retrieval mission in Sta. Maria, a nearby town. Upon confirmation of the report, MDRRMO Bocaue promptly coordinated with the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) of San Jose del Monte to verify the victim’s identity. Authorities later confirmed that the victim was a resident of San Jose del Monte City.

The Bocaue Rescue Office has extended its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased.
