Bulacan class suspensions

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — As of 6:00 PM on Sunday, a total of 15 local government units (LGUs) in Bulacan have announced the suspension of classes for Monday, November 18, due to the effects of Typhoon Pepito.
The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) of Bulacan reported that the LGUs include the City of Malolos and the municipalities of Pandi, San Ildefonso, San Rafael, Plaridel, San Miguel, Bulakan, Santa Maria, Obando, Bustos, Hagonoy, Marilao, Calumpit, Norzagaray, and Bocaue.
Additionally, a total of 729 individuals or 215 families from four coastal villages in Bulacan were preemptively evacuated due to the potential impact of the typhoon.
According to the PDRRMO, as of Sunday morning, 562 individuals or 171 families were evacuated from the coastal villages of Binuangan and Salambao in Obando. Meanwhile, 167 individuals or 44 families were evacuated from the coastal barangays of Pamarawan and Atlag in the City of Malolos.
The report also noted that as of Sunday morning, Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 3 was raised in 13 areas of Bulacan, including Norzagaray, San Miguel, San Ildefonso, San Rafael, Doña Remedios Trinidad, Angat, Santa Maria, Pandi, Bustos, Pulilan, Plaridel, and the cities of San Jose del Monte and Baliwag. The remaining nine municipalities and two cities of the province remained under Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 2.
Meanwhile, the Bustos Dam has been conducting preemptive water releases since Friday.
