MANILA – Congressman Bro. Eddie Villanueva spearheaded the filing of candidacy for the Citizens’ Battle Against Corruption (CIBAC) Party-List in the upcoming May 2025 elections.
Accompanied by select CIBAC leaders from the National Capital Region, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and international chapters, Congressman Bro. Eddie marched into the Tent City at the Manila Hotel, where the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) is accepting Certificates of Nomination and Acceptance for party-list elections.

As the lead nominee for CIBAC, Congressman Bro. Eddie is joined by former CIBAC Representative Domeng Rivera and Atty. Cathy Valencia, who will serve as the second and third nominees, respectively.
“Kasama ang mga Pilipinong nagmamahal sa Diyos at Bayan, papangunahan po natin ang krusadang labanan ang korapsyon na syang ugat ng matinding kahirapan ng sambayanang Pilipino,” Bro. Eddie stated before the media.
He emphasized his commitment to pursuing the death penalty for government officials convicted of embezzling 100 million pesos or more in public funds, asserting that “when millions of pesos go to corruption, millions of poor Filipinos are deprived of basic government services that are rightfully theirs.”
Villanueva also highlighted his intention to advocate for the Freedom of Information (FOI) bill, an anti-online gambling bill, and other legislative measures aimed at empowering the public to monitor government funds.

“Pag-iibayuhin natin ang pagbabantay sa mga budget tulad ng flood control program at confidential funds,” he added.
Since joining the party-list race in 2001, CIBAC Party-List has championed over 280 laws, including the Anti-Money Laundering Law, GMRC Law, Ease of Doing Business Law, Government Procurement Act, Doktor Para sa Bayan Act, and the Trabaho Para sa Bayan Act.
“Sa tulong ng Diyos at sambayanang Pilipino, maaari pong malutas ang problemang ito ng korapsyon,” Congressman Bro. Eddie concluded.
