DA reports MOU signed for Project LAWA and BINHI in Bulacan town
Mon Lazaro February 23, 2024 at 02:39 PMCITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — The Department of Agriculture – Central Luzon reported that a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Project Local Adaptation to Water Access (LAWA) and Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished (BINHI) was signed on Thursday at the mountainous town of Doña Remedios Trinidad in Bulacan.
The Project LAWA and BINHI will be implemented through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Risk Resiliency Program cash-for-training and work for the poor and vulnerable sectors affected by the El Niño.
DSWD Sec. Rex Gatchalian said, “The Project LAWA and BINHI aims to strengthen the adaptive capabilities of poor and vulnerable families during periods of severe drought, ultimately mitigating the impact of food insecurity and water scarcity brought about by the El Niño.”
The agriculture department will also participate in the implementation of the said project.
